This joint was written in the early 2000's in my small apartment in San Leandro. The original was written on a Yamaha AW4416, an Alesis QS7, my old T-40 bass and an off-brand guitar that I'd borrowed from my friend, Brandon. I took that picture behind this text with a cheap webcam the night that I completed the original version of this song. That's the QS7 in the background.

I can't lie; I wasn't there when we cut this latest version. I mean, I was in the room, but my head was elsewhere. I went into a pretty deep sadness the next day and was so removed from the session that I didn't listen to what we recorded. Once I did, I was pretty blown away by the great work that everyone had done and how we captured the emotion of the song. There's so much going on right now, and I'm not sure which way is up on some days, but it's cool. Maybe that's the trick, detach.
